The objective of the consultancy was to carry out the Mid-term Evaluation of the Project “Tourism Management based on Cultural Resources”, carried out by the Atlantic Foundation in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic and financed with IDB / MIF resources. The evaluation took into account indicators of continuous relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, impact and sustainability.
The purpose of the project is to strengthen the tourism sector of Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, competitively organizing the tourism offer around new products and segments. The purpose is to generate a network of business thematic cooperation based on joint strategies of operation, management and commercialization.

The objectives of the consultancy were: (i) to work in a participatory manner with the different actors involved in tourism to design an action plan for the achievement of the goals of the project “Tourism Management Project based on Cultural Resources”, since it was close to its completion, with a minimum fulfilment of its goals; and ii) provide follow-up and support to the Executing Unit and the Cluster in general, in order to achieve the goals. The project went from almost zero fulfilment of its Logical Framework indicators to a near total fulfilment of all the goals at the end of the support and follow-up consultancy.
