The objective of the consultancy was to develop an Integrated and Sustainable Management Plan for the tourism circuits created through the Project “Supporting the Conservation of Reefs through the Coral Tourism Promotion” (ATN / ME-13126-DR). The plan included the design and constitution of local governance, ie the creation of an organized figure for the management of each tourist circuit linked to coral gardening, incorporating all the actors involved with tourism in each of the three communities where the project was developed, and the corresponding business plans for the development of the circuits.
In general terms, for the development of the consultancy, two main tasks were undertaken:
1. Creation of a Public-Private model for the management of tourist circuits: the consultancy defined a management structure in a clear and simple way, basing the analysis in three main areas: (i) organizational; (ii) functional; and (iii) operational.
2. Development of an integrated management plan and business plan for the management of tourist circuits based on the concept of business sustainability linked to Coral Gardening.
