Protection to the User of Financial Services in Guatemala with emphasis in Microfinance

The objective of the consultancy was to elaborate the baseline of the program “Protection to the User of Financial Services in Guatemala with emphasis in Microfinance”. The program was executed by the Superintendence of Banks of Guatemala (SIB) and was partially financed with resources provided by the Multilateral Investment Fund of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB/MIF). During the consultancy, the indicators of the Logical Framework were reviewed, a monitoring and follow-up plan was established, a computerized monitoring and evaluation system was developed, and a manual was prepared for the collection of information for the intermediate and final evaluations.
This program was formulated to promote access to financial services by micro and small enterprises and low-income people, through the promotion of best practices; with the objective of developing mechanisms that encourage the implementation of good practices in terms of transparency, information disclosure, protection and education of financial service users.
