The purpose of the consultancy was to carry out the Final Assessment of the Forests, Biodiversity and Ecosystems Sector (FBE) of the EUROCLIMA+ Program. FBE is a regional cooperation initiative between the European Union and Latin America, implemented since 2019 by Expertise France (EF) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in 12 countries of the region. The specific objective of the BBE sector is to support Latin American countries in the implementation of projects and best practices in order to strengthen their capacities in the management of forests, biodiversity and ecosystems, in accordance with sectoral commitments related to Nationally Determined Contributions.
