Development and Strengthening of Tourist Micro-enterprises in Bucay and surrounding areas

The objective of the consultancy was to carry out the Final Evaluation of the project “Development and Strengthening of Tourist Micro-enterprises in Bucay and surrounding areas” (ATN / ME 12398-EC) in Ecuador. The project was executed by the Nobis Foundation and is partially funded by resources provided by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
This project was formulated to support the improvement of the socio-economic conditions of tourism services micro-enterprises through the development of sustainable tourism initiatives in the Bucay Canton. The purpose was to consolidate and position Bucay as a destination through the implementation of an innovative model of tourism development in the region, which aims to strengthen local capacities and encourage the creation of tourism micro-enterprises to boost the local economy. The project succeeded in improving the quality of life of the inhabitants of Bucay with equity and through sustainable development.
