Peru’s Agroforestry Concession Scheme: Enabling multi-level implementation of an innovative and transformative policy. AGROFOR

The AGROFOR project, funded by the Norwegian International Climate and Forest Initiative (NICFI) and implemented by the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), in consortium with the World Agroforestry Center (ICRAF), and the Peruvian Society of Environmental Law (SPDA), hopes to support (1) the reduction of deforestation and GHG emissions in the Peruvian Amazon, combined with the restoration through agroforestry of previously deforested land, along with (2) the improvement of the livelihoods of vulnerable small farmers on the forest frontier; the latter is both part of the impact and a precondition for reducing deforestation. The objective of the Mid-Term Evaluation was to assess the progress of Project implementation from March 2020 to February 2022, identify lessons learned, and make recommendations to strengthen Project performance and management in the second half of the Project.
